Danza de Noche

by Natalie de la Rosa

Ever since I discovered Nivia Gonzalez’s art, I have been in awe. The way she portrays women in her work is beautiful and refreshing. Her use of bright colors against brown skin reminds me of warm summer days and the way our skin glistens in the sun. I’ve always wanted to recreate her piece, Danza de Noche, and I finally got the chance to. I felt carefree while recreating this art on my face, and the resulting look made me feel beautiful and ethereal.
